The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cancer Research Forum is a key meeting held yearly for regional stakeholders in oncology. Unique in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the Forum is helping to mobilize the community of research scientists, clinicians and industry partners. A place to exchange ideas on the major issues facing cancer research, the Forum promotes sharing between scientific disciplines and stimulates the emergence of new collaborations.
Organized into thematic symposiums, the Forum addresses topics in line with current priorities and future questions, from basic research to current clinical advances, and gives the floor to opinion leaders as well as the stakeholders of tomorrow. The Forum’s purpose is to develop and promote excellence in cancer research in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
The Research2Business Oncology Meeting is a business convention dedicated exclusively to oncology. It brings together clinicians, industry players and researchers desiring to launch new projects and find corresponding funding.
Organized by CLARA every year since 2008, this free event enables researchers and entrepreneurs to hold individual R2B meetings to initiate new transfer projects in oncology and develop new collaborations.
Annual event of the School of Cancerology Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the Oncoriales bring together young research scientists (master’s students, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, young job searching doctors, etc.) and caregivers in training carrying out cancer research in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Building on interdisciplinarity, they embrace areas of research and knowledge as diverse as natural sciences, human and social sciences, medicine, philosophy, law, economics, etc.
The Oncoriales have three objectives:
- Exchange ideas about scientific and social issues in oncology
- Organize and support the CLARA network of PhD students in oncology
- Offer training and establish links with industry
The success of the Oncoriales is due to the active participation of young research scientists and caregivers motivated by the idea of contributing to advances in oncology. Feel free to contact us to give us your ideas, comments and suggestions!
Throughout the year, CLARA organizes informational and awareness-raising sessions for the cancer research community: CLARA FYIs.
These sessions give voice to research funding agencies for previews of the calls for projects’ schedules and enable experts to give talks on topical issues.
Followed by a friendly gathering, FYIs also provide opportunities to make contacts and promote the emergence of projects.
Visit our website or subscribe to our newsletter to learn about future sessions.
The CLARA Workshops aim to form working groups on targeted scientific themes, bringing together regional research teams and promoting interdisciplinarity. These meetings aim to create road maps with strategic issues and actions to implement that could be integrated in CLARA’s planning (scientific activities, growth-generating program, etc.).
CLARA is eager to hear all suggestions for thematic workshops.
The search for new anticancer drugs is very active: more than 600 molecules are currently under development around the world.
Academic researchers who want to pursue their work from proof of concept to transfer to industry are facing new challenges specific to development.
Thus, project holders are encouraged to take part in this initiative, a series of “innovation breakfasts” enabling them to identify the main challenges, constraints and factors for success in developing health products.
