EACR-funded EMBO Workshop on Laboratory Leadership

Appel à projets clos

We’re pleased to offer 16 free places to eligible EACR members at an EACR-funded three-day online training workshop facilitated by EMBO, a trusted leader in scientific publishing, communication and leadership training. This intensive workshop, aiming to nurture the next generation of laboratory leaders in cancer research, is designed for junior Principal Investigators with up to 5 years’ experience or Postdoctoral Researchers on the path to leading their own research groups.

Throughout the workshop, 16 EACR members will delve into crucial aspects of effective leadership, from understanding the roles and dynamics within their teams to honing communication and conflict resolution skills. Led by experts and utilising highly interactive seminar-style sessions, participants will gain practical insights and tools to enhance their leadership capabilities. We also strongly encourage participants to share the learning and materials with colleagues, to maximise its wide-reaching benefits.

Eligibility

You must be an EACR member, and you must be either:

  • A junior Principal Investigator with no more than 5 years’ experience as a team leader
  • A Postdoctoral Researcher on the way to becoming a Principal Investigator who has already secured independent funding intended to start your own research group.

Only one person per lab will be awarded a place, but we strongly encourage participants to share the workshop learning and materials with their colleagues.

The workshop will be delivered virtually via Zoom. Each participant will need their own:

  • Web camera and microphone. Plus headphones (if possible)
